Today Seceon is featured in Startup50’s Big 50-2017 report, Jeff Vance’s annual roundup of the top tech startups of the year. Over the final quarter of 2017, Startup50 will exclusively feature startups that have fought their way past numerous challenges to earn a spot in the Final 50.

In all, more than 210 startups applied to be considered for the Big 50-2016. The Final 50 are the determined few who fought their way through the entire gauntlet.
Jeff Vance founded Startup50 in 2013 as a site that would focus exclusively on hot technology startups. Rather than simply covering the startups and subjectively declaring certain startups “hot” or “disruptive” or “unicorns,” however, Jeff sought a more objective selection process.
The idea was to come up with a system, one featuring rigorous competitions and challenges, that would strip away the spin and force startups to focus on what really matters: real people and the real-world problems they’re struggling to overcome.
The result, thus far, has been impressive. Startups from previous Big50’s have raised record levels of funding (such as Cloudera’s near billion-dollar investment from Intel, or Cybereason’s $100M Series D in June 2017), have been acquired by major incumbents (HP’s acquisition of Eucalyptus and later Niara; Microsoft’s acquisition of Hexadite), and have achieved successful IPOs (Square in 2015; Cloudera in April, 2017).
“The startups in the Big50-2017 faced the most rigorous competition yet, fighting their way through new and more difficult challenges. This lineup is in a good position to follow in the footsteps of previous Big50 startups, many of whom have gone on to raise massive rounds of funding or have achieved successful exits, whether through IPOs or high-dollar acquisitions,” said Jeff Vance, founder and Editor-in-Chief of Startup50.
“I won’t be at all surprised if several of the startups in this report are household names in the not-too-distant future,” he added.
“We are delighted to have succeeded in gaining hard-won recognition for this award,” said Chandra Pandey, Founder and CEO of Seceon. “This win is a testament to the real value we are bringing to customers and partners and demonstrates the momentum we are currently generating in the market. Increasingly, Seceon’s automated and affordable approach is gaining traction as a practical solution for helping companies to detect, respond to and eliminate threats before they inflict damage.”
To earn a spot in the Big 50, startups must complete a series of exhaustive questionnaires, build a following through online voting, and demonstrate viability through a series of tests and challenges.
