Westford-based cybersecurity startup Seceon has signed a deal allowing a Japanese IT outsourcing company to resell its threat detection software there for the next three years.

Seceon chose to partner with Information Development Co. because its roster of about 1,000 customers represents a way into the world’s second-largest IT market, said Seceon co-founder and chief strategy officer Gary Southwell. Information Development serves some of Japan’s biggest manufacturers but also a large number of small and medium business, which are most likely to benefit from Seceon’s software because they don’t have the resources to build their own cybersecurity staffs, Southwell said..
